Privacy

Gates of Viridia is operated by Fablethorn Games, an independent game studio based in Wien. This page explains the data used by the browser beta.

What we use

When you sign in, we receive your public wallet address and verify a signed message. We do not ask for your wallet seed phrase or private key. We store the game data needed to resume your account, including your chosen name, companions, squad, inventory, progression, rewards, settings, messages, social interactions and leaderboard results.

The site and game server also receive normal request information such as your IP address, browser details and request times. This information may be processed in hosting and security logs.

Why we use it

We use wallet and game data to authenticate you, save progress, run battles and rewards, display rankings and protect the game against abuse. Account and gameplay processing is needed to provide the beta you choose to use. Security processing supports the studio’s legitimate interest in keeping the service available and fair.

Cookies and browser storage

After wallet sign-in, the game sets a secure, HttpOnly session cookie so you can continue playing without signing every action. The session expires after 30 days or when you sign out. The current site does not add advertising cookies or a visitor analytics script. Your wallet extension may keep its own settings under its provider’s policy.

Service providers and public features

Cloudflare hosts the website and stores game and session data for us. Your chosen wallet provider handles the wallet connection. If you use a public name or compete on the Spire leaderboard, that name and your result may be visible to other players. Wallet addresses are public identifiers; other people may be able to associate an address with activity on a blockchain.

Optional X account linking and token payments are not active in the current beta. If these features become available, we will update this page before they are used.

How long data stays

Session records expire after 30 days. Game progress and account records currently have no automatic expiry and remain while the service operates, unless removed through an applicable request or a change to the service. Hosting and security records may follow the provider’s own retention settings. We will update this notice if we adopt a more specific retention schedule.

Your choices and rights

You can sign out to end the current session. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to processing, or request deletion of personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. A wallet address and any already-public blockchain transaction cannot be changed by us.
